Home Made Biscotti
1/2 Cup Butter (1 stick)
1 Cup Sugar
3 Eggs
2 Cups flour, plus flour some for dusting work surface
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup chocolate chips - or what ever flavoring you want
Cherrys might make a good alternative for the chocolate.
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. In a mixer, whip the butter and sugar until creamy. 3. Add 1
egg at a time, mixing them in all the way before adding the others. Add the Almond extract.
4. Mix in the milk.
5. Slowly work in the flour and baking powder, cherrys or chocolate chips.
6. Divide dough in half.
7. On floured surface, shape the dough portions into paguette-shaped logs (about
3 inches wide).
8. Place dough on greased baking pan, and bake for 20 minutes.
9. Remove from the oven. Let cool for 5 min. and cut dough into desirable pieces
with a serrated knife.
10. Lower oven temperature to 300 degrees, place cookies back on the pan in
one layer and bake for anouther 25 minutes to dry them out.
11. Remove from oven and cool them on a wire rack.
